We encourage our employees and contractors to cycle, use public transit or car-sharing for transportation. As Canada-wide service providers, we do however also use planes and cars for transportation as required. As such, we cannot yet live and work carbon neutral and have chosen to compensate our emissions through projects that also have social benefits.
As an industry leader, Blocktivity has chosen to go beyond the “scope 3” emissions. We compensate all of our scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions as well as those netto emissions of our employees, contractors and their households. We thus compensate:
Direct emissions from our activities
Emissions from purchased enerergy
Emissions from our suppliers, primarily contractors and cloud computing
Emissions from our employee and contractor households
To achieve this, we support projects selected and vetted by Gold Standard that have a positive social impact in addition to the climate action. Since our launch in 2018, Blocktivity has compensated 57 tonnes of CO2.
